Allama Iqbal Open University Also known open University is the oldest university of not only Pakistan but also of Asia. AIOU was established with the aim to provide quality education to all the citizens of Pakistan especially if it is difficult for them to attend regular classes for their studies. The main campus of the university is located in Islamabad while it has several sub-campuses in every part of the country. AIOU offers extensive educational facilities to the students from matric to PhD level while and diploma courses are also offered. The university follows a modified two semesters per year (Spring-Autumn). This is only a single university which is Open University in Asia and number of students get an education through this university then all other universities of Pakistan.
